Peroneal Strengthening with Theraband
Peroneal activation and control is imperative in preventing ankle sprains and maintaining foot control when playing sport. It is an important stabiliser when requiring to balance on one leg.
When performing this exercise, it is important to isolate the peroneal muscles and not rotate through the hip or the knee. You can feel for the muscle contracting on the outside of the shin which can be useful feedback whilst moving the foot against the resistance band.
