Imogen Wakerly was referred by her consultant after sustaining a lower back injury causing severe pain and weakness down her leg. Imogen has a very physically demanding occupation, requiring her to bend forward and pick up heavy boxes on a frequent basis.
She made promising progress towards full recovery when she got a little surprise, well two surprises actually. Imogen is a soon to be mother of twins!! The increased load and the physiological changes the body goes through during pregnancy contribute to an increase strain of lower back, SIJ, and neural structures.
The main focus for Imogen was to manage her pain via manual therapy and get her as strong as possible with rehabilitation, ensuring the safety of her babies at all times.
