Chris has over 20 years of experience as a Sports Chiropractor, having first qualified in 1994 as a chiropractor and then in 1997 as a Chiropractic Sports Physician. He has worked in a variety of sports events in South Africa such as Comrades Marathon, Gunston 500 surfing in Durban and looking after the Natal Sharks Rugby team. Whilst in South Africa he also lectured for 7 years in the field of whiplash, neck, back injuries and headaches. He then emigrated to the UK and lectured at the University of Surrey from 2001-2004, and in 2004 went into full time practice.
He has looked after Olympic athletes, A listed celebrities, working at Hell’s kitchen in London, and recently looked after the Samoan Rugby team in 2018 and 2019 in preparation for the Autumn tour and World Cup Rugby. He also helped the Fiji Rugby team prepare for the Barbarians game in 2019. He enjoys treating all kinds of patients, whether they participate in sports or not, and his approach is multi-disciplinary. He works with physiotherapist, biokineticist and massage therapist when needed. He has a network of consultants that he refers patients to when requiring a second opinion or further investigations.
Chris specialises in neck pain, back/ spine pain as well as headaches. He did his Master’s thesis on headaches and has lectured in this field. He also manages sports injuries as well, but his focus is generally around spinal problems. He treats shoulder, knee, hip and ankle injuries, but will often refer to the Physiotherapists for rehabilitation when needed.
He is married and has three awesome daughters and three dogs. Loves playing golf when he gets a chance and enjoys swimming and walking.
